Tumor regression grade (TRG) for gastric cancer and radiological methods on predicting response to perioperative chemotherapy: a narrative review
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background and Objective: Perioperative chemotherapy has been increasingly practiced on gastric cancer (GC) in Western Countries where two third of the patients have locally advanced disease at diagnosis. The histological radiological evaluation tumor response to are both cornerstones this multimodal therapy predict oncological outcomes. This article aims review current regression grade (TRG) classification systems available give an overview regarding methods predicting therapy.

Magnetic resonance tumor regression grade (MR-TRG) to assess pathological complete response following neoadjuvant radiochemotherapy in locally advanced rectal cancer
This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of a magnetic resonance (MR) automatic method for quantitative assessment of the percentage of fibrosis developed within locally advanced rectal cancers (LARC) after neoadjuvant radiochemotherapy (RCT). A total of 65 patients were enrolled in the study and MR studies were performed on 3.0 Tesla scanner; patients were followed-up for 30 months. The per...
متن کاملResponse to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in locally advanced gastric and gastroesophageal cancer: Phase II clinical trial
Background: Gastric cancer is an important health problem across the world. Chemotherapy in combination with local treatment is standard treatment for locally advanced gastroesophageal cancers. The purpose of this investigation was evaluation of response and tolerability to neoadjuvant EOX regimen in locoregionally advanced gastric cancer. Materials and Methods: patients with locoregionally adv...
متن کاملTumor grade and chemotherapy response in endometrioid endometrial cancer
The objective of this study is to evaluate the association between tumor grade and response to chemotherapy in patients with endometrioid endometrial adenocarcinoma. Patients with advanced or recurrent endometrioid endometrial adenocarcinoma of known tumor grade who received at least 3 cycles of chemotherapy were retrospectively identified at three institutions. RECIST 1.1 criteria were used to...
متن کاملPerioperative chemotherapy in locally advanced gastric cancer.
Gastric cancer is one of the most common cancers and a main cause of cancer-related death worldwide, since the majority of patients suffering of this malignancy are usually faced with a poor prognosis due to diagnosis at later stages. In order to improve treatment outcomes, the association of surgery with chemo and/or radiotherapy (multimodal therapy) has become the standard treatment for local...
متن کاملApproaches and genetic determinants in predicting response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in locally advanced gastric cancer
Gastric cancer remains a major health burden worldwide. There is near-universal agreement that neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) is a preferred management for locally advanced gastric cancer (LAGC). However, the optimal approach for an individual patient is still not clear and remains controversial, which could be at least partly explained by the lack of predictive tools. The ability to predict ch...
